New homes are typically sent a supplementary tax bill. Supplementary tax bills are mailed out the first week of October and due the last business day in December. Depending on the completion date of your home and/or if the home has been assessed, you may receive a tax bill for both the previous and current year.

I received a tax bill for a property I no longer own. What should I do?

If you no longer own the property, please forward the tax notice to the current owner or advise the City of Steinbach.

Properties that are not receiving the education tax credit must apply. To qualify, the property must be your principal residence; a single-dwelling unit; you must have occupied it as of January 1st; and you must not be receiving the credit for another residence. The deadline to apply for 2023 has passed. You may claim the Manitoba Education Property Tax Credit on your 2023 personal income tax return. Please contact the city to have it applied to future notices.

What period does my tax bill cover?
